I, along with many people, have always viewed the body as a beautiful vessel that we use to navigate through the physical world. Our minds, the captain of the ship, guides the vessel and insures that we arrive at our destination safely and securely. Just like any other mechanical form of transportation we have to maintain our vessel for reliable use.
We regularly take care of our automobiles; we service the oil, cycle the antifreeze, and occasionally check the pressures in our tires. Without a reliable automobile that we can count on we would simply be left dead on our tracks. Knowing the importance of reliable transportation we take great measure to ensure that we perform preventative maintenance.
The body (vessel) over an extended period of time takes on an enormous amount of punishment, we work forty to sixty hour weeks, eat unhealthy fast food, don't exercise on a regular basis to build strong muscles and are over exposed to pollutants. We occasionally take care of the thing we can visibly notice, like our teeth and eyesight. However, we never bother to take a look at the things that are more subtle.
The years pass by until that one day you realize- with bright healthy teeth - that your body's not the same you notice unusual body pain and joint aches, so you go to your local doctor only to find out that you have some sort of disease. And so you find yourself thinking and wondering to yourself why has this has occured to you. Before you realize it you find yourself spending large amounts money and ingesting perscribed pills that only over complicate your health.
So how do we prevent this type of scenario? Very simple... daily exercise like walking and a proper nutritional diet.
