But how do you turn an ordinary box into a masterpiece? I will let you in on some empty shadow box ideas.
First you need to pick your size.
Just a quick trip to your local craft or hobby shop will show you the many kinds of empty shadow boxes available. You will be astounded at the array of sizes. There are many kinds of boxes also, pick the one to best fill you need. A small box can be used in the bathroom, or atop your desk. Just keep where you are going to display and look for bigger sizes for the big spaces in your home.
Figure out what style is needed.
You might like to craft for yourself, or make a personal gift for a friend or family member, a golf shadow box. Golf is a wonderful project theme. You might include some green indoor-outdoor carpet, maybe some old driver covers, a ball and some sand would help create a stunning accent for the living room or office.
Around your kitchen table, create a bountiful harvest feel by adding some silk or dried flowers and fruits to your shadow box. You could make a smaller version and put it somewhere in your bathroom.
For the pet lover the animal themed shadow box is a great addition to their home. Dog bones and paw prints, or some of your cat's favorite toys arranged with pictures of your animals show how much you love and care for the four legged members of your family.
Like sports? How about adding some miniature basketballs, baseball bats, or footballs available at your local craft store. For the bedroom you might like a Hawaiian theme. Some sand, a miniature palm tree and a lei would create a Hawaiian project.
Add personality to your home. Simply go to your local hobby store where a little imagination and a few supplies can turn into a beautiful conversation piece for you. Or make some for other people to pick up some extra dough.
