Maytag Dishwashers-A Brand Everyone Trusts

By: Deshawn Agtarap

Maytag dishwashers and other appliances are now owned by Whirlpool. These two well-known name brands are continuing a history of quality dishwashers. When Whirlpool began in 1911, its first home appliance was a motor driven wringer washing machine. At that time the company was called Upton Machine Company. In the 1950's, the name changed to Whirlpool and they were making dryers, washers, refrigerators, stoves, and air conditioners. By the 1980's the expansion led to buying KitchenAid and Roper brands. Their most recent acquisition is the Maytag brand.

Maytag continues to have innovative new ideas in their dishwasher lines. Maytag has a new Jet Clean III dishwasher that boasts a three-rack loading system with an extra tall tub for larger loads and flexibly loading configurations. The cleaning performance is top-notch with four spray arms that deliver high-pressure water above and below each of the three racks. This means it has more spray jets than any other dishwasher. The Maytag Jet Clean III is EnergyStar qualified to keep costs of operation down. It also features Maytag's Seal of Silence to assure quiet operation. The Maytag Jet Clean III comes in two models. One has 13 touch pads and a stainless steel tub for $879. The other has 12 touch pads and a plastic tub for $669.

Maytag still offers the Jet Clean II, which has two wash racks. It also has the large capacity to hold up to a 14-place setting. The adjustable racks allow for flexible loading options. This model has three spray arms above and below the two racks and delivers high-pressure water so that you do not need to pre-wash your dishes. The Maytag Jet Clean II is also energy efficient with the EnergyStar rating and quiet with Maytag's Seal of Silence. Available in nine models, the Jet Clean II can have from 6 to 13 touch pads and either four and six wash cycles. The price varies from $449 up to $929 if you want the stainless steel tub.

Maytag's basic model is the Jet Clean. The Jet Clean offers a six-level wash system with high-pressure water spray. It features a hard food disposer and a dual filtration system to keep residue off your dishes. Although the racks do not adjust, the Maytag Jet Clean does feature folding tines, snugger arms, split silverware basket, and a basket for odd items. The Jet Clean has the EnergyStar approval. It is available in two models, both with plastic tubs. One as a temperature water control and 8 touch pads for $399. The other has a booster heater and 6 push buttons for $339.

Maytag is one of the most trusted home appliance brands in the United States. Merging with the other leading, trusted company of Whirlpool, Maytag will only improve in its dishwasher technology. Among the three series of Maytag dishwashers, a customer can find just the right model for his/her situation.
