Cycling is a low impact exercise so it’s a great choice for anyone who has joint problems or who is overweight. Almost everyone already knows how to ride a bike. Don’t worry you haven’t forget just a few minutes and you’ll be riding like you never quit.
Its also an excellent of exercise for families. Younger children can tag along on mom or dad’s bike and older children can ride their own bikes. And while everyone’s getting fit you can teach your children safe riding habits. You might want to stay off busy roads and instead utilize some of the many trails that are available.

You might want to invest in a heart rate monitor so you can keep tabs on that old ticker and figure out where you are getting the best workout while staying within a healthy range. After only a few weeks of cycling you’ll see considerable change in how your heart responds to exercise. The more fit you get the longer and harder you will have to ride to increase your heart rate.
There’s nothing like getting outdoors on a warm sunny day to brighten your mood. Crappy day at work? Hop on your bike when you get home and it won’t be long before your spirits are lifted. You don’t have to ride for long. Just a short ride will relax you and pick up your mood. And if you are near a trail system that can get you surrounded by nature rather than bustling cars the effects will be ten fold. There’s nothing quite like the rustling of the leaves and the chirping birds to relax you.
Cycling will also improve your co-ordination. That’s because it takes a fair bit of co-ordination to actually ride a bike. So not only is your body getting a work out, so is your brain. And with that increased co-ordination you are less likely to have accidents as a result of clumsiness.
If you are looking to get a little stronger cycling can do that for you too. Cycling works out the leg muscles, gluts, and to some degree the arm muscles. It’s an excellent lower body exercise and it can repay you with fewer aches and pains on a day to day basis.
Cycling will improve your overall fitness – mind, body, and soul – can see dramatic improvements just from a little exercising. You’ll be reenergized, more alter, less tired, and less stress, and because you’ll be in better physical shape you’ll hurt less and be able to do more for a longer period of time.
Cycling is the fastest growing physical activity. More and more people are jumping on their bikes to get fit, to commute back and forth to work, and to enjoy some quality family time. So if you’re ready to take your fitness to a new level why not take up cycling?
