Just as the world has changed over the years so has the game of golf. Thos golfers that have chosen to ignore how golfing has evolved are getting left behind in the dust. The modern golf game is not the game of the past.
Golfers who have chosen to ignore the changes in golf have run into plenty of difficulties and many have even decided they no longer wish to play golf. Their issues these golfers are having are because they refuse to recognize these tremendous changes to the golfing game and thus they are no longer competitive.
Golfing has always been considered a nice leisure activity that anyone could participate in no matter what their physical level. You could get your exercise and enjoy the company of good friends. However in the past decade the game has taken on a new face.
These days’ golfing has become a serious sport where the pros have regular exercise programs to enhance their physical physique and their game. Physically fit players tend to have a much better golf game and thus some of the competition who refuses to get on board is being left in the dust.
The origins of golf are not really that clear. During the reign of Caesar there was a game similar to golf where balls stuffed with feathers where hit with a club made from branches. There are also some illustrations that indicate the Dutch has a similar game during the 15th century.
Gold was actually banned in Scotland during 1457 because it was interfering with archery which was vital to their well being. The oldest golf course in the world can be found in Scotland.
In 1860 the first professional golf tournament was held in Prestwick Scotland. In future years it was also open to amateur golfers. The first 18 hole golf course in the United States opened in 1893 in Wheaton Illinois and was called the Chicago Golf Club. So golfing certainly isn’t new to the world.
The changes to the way the game have played are a combination of technology, innovation, and player demand. The number of golf products currently on the market is astounding.
The idea is that the best golf products will improve your game. Well this may be true for a pro player or a golfer that’s got some skills to begin with it’s not going to solve all golfers’ problems.
These days you can choose from a variety of golf clubs made from various materials. Your clubs are probably your best tool. Choosing golf clubs that are the correct weight and angle are important to your golf stroke. The options you have will depend on how much you have to spend on your clubs.
When first starting out it’s probably a good ideas to buy middle of the road. As your skill improves and your understanding of the game you’ll be in a better position to judge the optimum golf clubs for you.
Of course there are also several different ball types available to choose from. You’ll have to experiment a bit to find the golf ball that you like best.
Remember a fit golfer will statistically do much better than an unfit golfer and that’s why so many pros have added physical fitness to their training regime. It’s definitely worth considering and besides improving your golf game you’ll improve your overall health.
There are all kinds of hi tech gadgets you can buy. Some reasonably prices, others costing a small fortune. You’ll need to do your research and decide which ones might really benefit your game.
Golfing a sport as old as Roman times has seen many changes over the years. But the past decade has seen the most remarkable changes of all. The modern golf game looks quite different from the past, and golfing of the future may still have another look as it continues to evolve.
