Looking for something fun to do with the kids? How about a fishing trip! First of all, who doesn't want to spend a day by the water, or on the water in a boat! It doesn't matter how many fish you catch, or even if you catch any at all! Having fun is the whole point. So gather the whole family and get your supplies ready. Here are some things to make sure you bring. First of all, of course you will need fishing poles. You can get these and most of your supplies from your local stores, hardware stores, and many department stores. If you are unsure, call some of your local stores and ask them if they carry fishing supplies. In many stores, these are found in the same area with camping and hunting supplies. You'll also need items like hooks, fishing line and bait. For bait, you may bring real live worms (the classic standard) or you may opt to get fake bait that takes on the appearance of an appetizing treat (sometimes in the shape and color of a fish smaller than the one you're trying to catch). To bring all your supplies out with you, you'll want to get a tackle box. This looks very similar to a tool box, and has several compartments designed to make all of your fishing supplies easy to access. They come in various materials (usually plastic or metal, sometimes wood) and you can choose yours based on how heavy it is, how durable it is, how large it is, and so on. Finally, you may bring a boat along if you intend to fish out on the water. Some marinas have boats you can rent for a day on the water, in case you don't have one or don't want to bring yours out!
