With the seemingly never ending bad news reports regarding the retail shopping industry, and statistics which seem to suggest a terminal decline in high street shopping, the internet is now ready to claim a even larger piece of the cake as to percentage of shopping done online as opposed to in the traditional manner. A study for the Times Newspaper has found that seven out of ten former Woolworth shops in the UK are still empty, and the ones that have been occupied are taken over by the birth of the 'pound' or 99p outlets which are springing into existence as shoppers face an ever more difficult time to afford even the basics let alone the luxuries.
